Joseph was a boy of God
Told on his brothers to dad
His Father gave him a new coat
That made his brothers more mad

Things went from bad to worse
He had some awesome dreams
His brothers hated him because
Joseph would be great it seemed

But God was with him – as he grew up
God was with him – kept him alive
God was with him – gave him a gift
God was with him – yes he was

Joseph was a teen of God
One his brothers wanted to kill
But as they threw him in the pit
God's plan was being fulfilled

Things wouldn't soon get better
Joseph had to be brave
They told their father he was dead
But sold him as a slave

But God was with him – even in the pit
God was with him – kept him alive
God was with him – as he went to Egypt
God was with him – yes he was

Joseph was a young man of God
To Potiphar he was sold
He did well in everything
He was head of the household

But things got worse again
Jail became his new home
Potiphar's wife had lied
That he'd attacked her while alone

But God was with him – even in jail
God was with him – kept him alive
God was with him – gave him success
God was with him - yes he was

Joseph was a man of God
Prisoners tell him their dreams
He lets the baker and butler know
What each of their dreams mean

But things still don't get better
Though Joseph thought they might
The Butler forgot Joseph
When things for him went right

But God was with him – forgotten, alone
God was with him – far from home
God was with him – helped him to wait
God was with him – yes he was

Joseph was God's chosen man
And when the time was right
He explained the Pharoah's dreams
That came to him one night

Finally things looked up
With Joseph in command
All of Egypt was rescued
From the famine in the land

And God was with him – lifted him up
God was with him – kept him alive
God was with him – gave him success
God was with him – yes he was

Joseph had a heart like God
Israel's famine was long
When his brothers came for food
He forgave all their wrong

Everything had turned out
Just as the Lord had planned
To rescue Joseph's family
And bring them to this land

And God was with him – helped him forgive
God was with him – helped him to live
God was with him – gave him success
God was with him – yes he was
